Under your skin

In an unguarded moment when you feel stretched thin

Someone can came into your life and crawl under your skin.

If your skin is as tight as a drum

it will keep that special someone from

conquering your human tissue wall

preventing an answer to your heart beat’s call.

Sometimes skin isn’t flexible and too often challenged

to the point of tearing, making us feel unbalanced.

Immobile expressions covering up the skin’s form

Reshaping it to society’s perceived norm.

But skin isn’t supposed to be shaped or molded.

It was carefully laid in place, perfectly folded.

Answer to the beat that vibrates through the skin,

To really unfold the possibilities hidden within.
